La Gran Fábrica Drew Estate is the massive, modern rolling facility in Estelí operated by Drew Estate—widely considered the largest premium cigar factory in Nicaragua. What began as a small New York operation grew into an industrial-scale powerhouse under Jonathan Drew, producing Liga Privada, Undercrown, Herrera Estelí, Acid, MUWAT, and dozens of other lines that span from traditional Nicaraguan powerhouses to infused innovations.
Acquired by Swisher International in 2014, Drew Estate retained its creative leadership while gaining resources to expand the Estelí operation. La Gran Fábrica employs hundreds of rollers and represents a significant capital investment in Nicaraguan manufacturing capacity. It sits at the opposite end of the boutique spectrum from small contract shops like TABSA—proof that Estelí supports both artisan scale and industrial scale without sacrificing the hand-rolled premium category.
