My Father Cigars stands as one of the most respected and influential Nicaraguan brands in the modern premium cigar world. Founded by the legendary master blender José “Pepín” García, the brand embodies a deep commitment to family tradition, bold flavor profiles, and uncompromising construction. After leaving Cuba and establishing operations first in a small Miami factory (El Rey de los Habanos), Pepín and his family—son Jaime and daughter Janny—opened their flagship factory in Estelí, Nicaragua in 2009, naming it after the seminal blend Jaime created as a tribute to his father.
The García family’s roots trace back to tobacco work in Cuba, where Pepín began rolling at age 11 and became a Class 8 master roller, crafting cigars for iconic brands like Cohiba and Montecristo. My Father cigars are known for their full-bodied power, complex layers of spice, earth, leather, and sweetness, often featuring Nicaraguan tobaccos grown in the volcanic soils around Estelí. Flagship lines such as Le Bijou 1922, The Judge, and Flor de las Antillas have earned multiple Cigar of the Year accolades from Cigar Aficionado, cementing the brand’s reputation for excellence. The family also produces highly regarded cigars for Tatuaje (Pete Johnson’s project), La Aroma de Cuba, and San Cristóbal, showcasing their role as a contract manufacturing powerhouse while maintaining strict quality control across their own portfolio.
