Cain is Oliva Cigar Co.'s ligero-forward Nicaraguan sub-brand—launched at the 2009 IPCPR trade show and rolled at Tabolisa in Estelí. Conceived by NUB creator Sam Leccia while at Oliva, Cain was built for smokers whose palates had matured toward fuller-bodied cigars: blends lean heavily on Nicaraguan long-filler, often dominated by triple-fermented ligero from Estelí, Condega, and Jalapa to deliver power without harsh edges.
The flagship Serie F ("Forced Refined") pushed strength limits with all-ligero fillers under Nicaraguan Habano wrappers—vitolas named for their ring gauges, including the Robusto 550 and Double Toro 660. The portfolio expanded into Black (Cuban-seed Nicaraguan wrapper), Habano, Maduro, milder Connecticut CT and Daytona lines, and the broader 550 series. Crossover Cain NUB vitolas marry the short NUB format with Cain's ligero blends. For the map, Cain connects Oliva's corporate manufacturing backbone to a distinct identity aimed at strength seekers—alongside Serie V, Melanio, and NUB as another Tabolisa-made expression of Nicaraguan fire.
